3 Reasons Why You Should Avoid Weight Loss Pills

Times are changing. People are always looking for a quick fix. They try looking for the easy way to getting around (public transport instead of walking), eating (restaurants instead of getting their own food like fish). They are now using weight loss pill to lose weight instead of the good old exercise that everyone used to do before. These pills are thought to be miracle pills that really do help you lose weight. However, these little pills have their own dark side. In this article I will give you 3 reasons in why you should avoid weight loss pills.

Reason 1
They Stimulate water loss. By taking one of these pills you end up losing a lot of water in the process. This means you start to get dehydrated which is a health risk as dehydration can cause headaches, muscle cramps, vomiting, weakness and even heart attacks (the blood pressure increases due to the decrease of the fluid in the intravascular space. Also if you think about it, by becoming dehydrated you have to drink more water which means you are just putting back the water you have just lost.

Reason 2
They can cause a loss of appetite and an increase in metabolism. By making you eat less and increasing your metabolism the body is burning fat into energy. This may sound good but a loss of appetite can cause high blood pressure and can also cause a weakness in the muscles. By continuing to consume weight loss pills you could be in for long term health problems like diarrhoea.

Reason 3
Long term side effects can be caused if the weight loss pills are regularly consumed. By consuming the pills you can end up having a potassium deficiency as that too is lost with the water you lose. The other side effects to the pills are that they can cause insomnia, restlessness and anxiety. These side effects can last for some time if you consume the pills regularly.

As you can see these 3 reasons for using weight loss pills argue that you should not use them as they can cause some bad side effects to your body. They may be the easy way out of losing weight instead of exercising at the gym but are they worth having health problems for? You should try regular exercising instead of these health risking pills.
